If you must remove the pin use a screw driver to remove the screw (for an earlier bolt) or if a later model use a drift to drift the pin out.ġ6) Separate the extractor from the sleeve.ġ7) Figure 17 shows the disassembled Krag bolt.ġ8) Insert the extractor into the sleeve as shown in figure 18.Ģ1) Work the extractor to make certain there is no binding.Ģ2) Insert the safety lever into the rear of the sleeve.Ģ3) Use the small flat blade tool to depress the small piston and then slide safety all the way in.Ģ4) Insert firing pin into rear of sleeve.Ģ6) Compress the main spring so you can install the striker.Ģ7) With main spring compressed, slide the striker over the firing pin as shown in figure 27.Ģ8) Figure 28 shows the striker correctly installed onto the firing pin.Ģ9) Insert the firing pin assembly into the bolt body.ģ0) Hold the bolt body securely. It is easy to bend the extractor or damage the pin. Force enough to cause potential damage to both humans and surroundings.ġ0) Remove the striker from the firing pin.ġ1) Remove the main spring from the firing pin.ġ2) Slide the firing pin out of the bolt sleeve.ġ3) Using a non-marring tool strike the safety lever so it disengages and can be removed from the sleeve.ġ4) Remove the safety lever from the sleeve.ġ5) Note: Do not remove the extractor pin or screw and separate the extractor from the bolt sleeve unless completely necessary. The main spring is under considerable tension and can propel either the striker or itself with great force. Note: Make certain to take care in where you point the striker and main spring. Note that the cocking piece head/knob pictured is what is referred to as the "Headless Cocking Piece." Most cocking piece will have a much more pronounced knob like appearance.Ħ) While pulling out the cocking piece rotate it counter-clockwise until the firing pin assembly can be removed from the bolt.ħ) Remove the firing pin assembly from the bolt.Ĩ) Figure 8 shows the striker installed on the end of the firing pin.ĩ) Compress the main spring and then pivot back the striker as shown in figure 9. The extractor now clears the receiver.Ĥ) Pull the bolt to the rear and out of the receiver.ĥ) Hold the bolt body securely and pull the cocking piece out. 1) With the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, pull back the bolt and open the magazine to ensure the carbine is unloaded and safe.ģ) With the extractor lifted rotate the bolt to the left.
